About the Role

Activus Recruitment is supporting a well-established and growing civil and environmental engineering business. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Site Engineer to join their team.

The client is open to candidates ranging from early-career engineers with strong potential through to those with a few years of site experience.

The business delivers civil and environmental engineering projects across Scotland, often working in natural and challenging environments. The work requires practical thinking, adaptability, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.

The Role

Based in Banchory, this is a role combining site work and office collaboration.

You will play a key role in project delivery, working closely with site teams, management, and clients. Depending on your experience, you will take ownership of core site engineering duties, helping ensure works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Projects often evolve in response to environmental conditions, so being organised, adaptable, and a clear communicator is essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting and/or managing day-to-day site engineering activities
• Setting out, quality assurance, and maintaining accurate records
• Coordinating with site staff, subcontractors, and suppliers
• Communicating effectively with clients and internal teams
• Assisting in planning and adapting works in response to environmental conditions
• Helping ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification

What We’re Looking For

• Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering (or a related discipline)
• Strong technical grounding in civil engineering principles
• Experience working on civil engineering sites (as a Site Engineer or similar) is advantageous
• Highly organised with good attention to detail
• Clear and confident communicator with site teams, management, and clients
• Positive attitude and willingness to learn
• Comfortable adapting to changing conditions and evolving work methods
