Activus Recruitment is recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering and manufacturing client in Aberdeenshire for an experienced Fabricator Welder to join their workshop team.

This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a busy and growing organisation, working on a variety of structural and piping fabrication projects within a professional workshop environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication and welding of structural steelwork and piping components
  • Operating fabrication and welding equipment safely and efficiently
  • Reading and interpreting engineering and manufacturing drawings
  • Completing manufacturing documentation and timesheets accurately
  • Carrying out cutting and heating activities using plasma and oxy-acetylene equipment
  • Assisting with maintenance and repair work on workshop equipment when required
  • Supporting loading and unloading operations
  • Assisting with stores and stock control activities as required
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
  • Following all company quality, health, safety, and environmental procedures

Requirements

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Fabrication, Welding, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent NVQ/SVQ Level 2 or 3 qualification
  • Proven fabrication and welding experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment
  • Strong experience with MIG, TIG, and Flux Core welding processes
  • Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
  • Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a workshop environment
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality workmanship

Desirable

  • Forklift certification
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Experience working within a fast-paced engineering or manufacturing environment
