Activus Recruitment is delighted to support our client, a long-established civil engineering and multi-utility contractor in the North East of Scotland, as they seek an experienced Site Engineer to join their growing team. With decades of expertise delivering utility connections, precision groundworks and major infrastructure projects, the company continues to expand following new contract awards.

The Role

The Site Engineer will play a key role in supporting engineering operations across a range of projects. This position involves site setting-out, technical support, liaising with clients and maintaining strong compliance with safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing tenders and project documentation

  • Liaise with clients, statutory bodies and internal teams

  • Provide accurate progress updates to line managers

  • Support the preparation and issue of Job Instructions and Toolbox Talks

  • Conduct regular site visits and carry out setting-out works

  • Prepare accurate “as-built” drawings for completed works

  • Support the QHSE Systems Manager with Health & Safety compliance

  • Assist with risk assessments and RAMS documentation

  • Work with the Contracts Manager on material requisitions

  • Support the QS team with measurement and valuation of works

  • Manage day-to-day employee issues within the site team

  • Operate in line with the Integrated Management System

Skills & Experience Required

  • Minimum 5 years’ civil engineering experience, including setting-out and supervision

  • Strong understanding of contracting principles

  • Excellent civil engineering knowledge with multi-utility experience beneficial

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office

  • Excellent organisation, time management and problem-solving abilities

  • Flexible, proactive and able to work in challenging site environments

  • Strong Health & Safety awareness

  • Full UK Driving Licence

  • SSSTS/SMSTS and CSCS card required
