We are seeking an Assistant Site Manager to join their team on a major new-build nursing home development. The Role

As an Assistant Site Manager, you will support the Site Manager and senior leadership team in coordinating and delivering construction activities to the highest standards of quality, safety and efficiency.

You will play an integral part in ensuring the smooth running of the site, assisting with supervisory duties, technical tasks, reporting, and stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Site Manager in supervising direct labour teams and subcontractors.

  • Assist with implementing systems to review progress against time, quality, dimensions and quantity targets.

  • Help record and test workmanship and materials (e.g. drainage, concrete, piling, brickwork).

  • Assist with setting out works within required tolerances.

  • Take a proactive role in promoting and managing site health and safety.

  • Support coordination and supervision of temporary works.

  • Assist with preparing and managing test and inspection plans.

  • Contribute to planning and scheduling works in conjunction with the client, local authorities and internal teams.

  • Attend client, stakeholder and internal meetings, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations.

  • Assist with measuring works and submitting accurate records to support timely payments.

  • Support monitoring of commercial performance of work streams and the supply chain in partnership with the commercial team.


Required Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience supervising engineering teams and subcontractors.

  • Ability to develop strong working relationships across site teams.

  • Knowledge of contract specifications, standards and quality expectations.

  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

  • Strong time-management and organisational abilities.

  • Full manual driving licence.

  • Relevant degree or site management qualification.

  • Valid CSR card.

  • First Aid certificate.


Qualifications

  • SSSTS (Site Supervisor Safety Training Scheme) – valid and up to date.

  • NVQ Level 4 in Construction Site Supervision (or equivalent).

  • CSCS Gold Card (Supervisor level).

  • CITB Health, Safety & Environment Test (Supervisor level).

  • Current 3-Day First Aid at Work certificate.
